The best time to shop

Today and tomorrow, Kohl's will be open until midnight. The doors open Wednesday at 7 a.m. That gives folks a lot of time to shop. Yet do you ever feel everyone dashes to a store at precisely the same moment you do?
The trick is to avoid crunch times, the hours just before and after work, the lunch hour and after dinner. I think the best time is about 6 p.m. , when the after-work shoppers are starting to clear out and before the evening buyers rush in.
"All the responsible people are home cooking supper," says my friend Nancy. "I'd rather go spend money."
Her dollars will go a long way during the Kohl's sale. The entire stock of robes and sleepwear, originally $12-$70, is half price, marked down to $6-$35. All sweaters also are 50 percent off. Down comforters and flannel sheets are 60 percent off. And fine jewelry is marked down 65 percent.
Senior citizens can take an extra 15 percent off, which should make my mother very happy.

At Doggie Style - pet boutique in Philadelphia (now three locations!) shoppers who either make a donation to the venue's "Giving Tree" - featuring sweet and loveable pets now up for adoption - or adopt a pet will recieve incredible discounts on goodies for their fluffy friends!

Thanks for the tip, Mindie. Our animal friends should not be forgotten when we're buying goodies for our human friends.
It's also wonderful to raise awareness regarding all the loving pets just waiting for people who care to adopt them.
I'm also pleased when retailers put their money where their mouth is. It is always a pleasure to shop at places where the owners truly believe in what they are selling!
Thanks for your insights, Mindie!

My experience says the best time to shop is 2-4 pm weekdays. I find that all the mothers are rushing home to greet their children from school, and all the sales staff has returned from lunch, the workers are still at work - making a much less crowded store for me.
