Ready, get set, shop!
Merry shopping!
'Tis the season of the deep discount, when paying full price
would be as strange as spotting Santa's sleigh pulled by eight
chihuahuas.
Every day, the mail, e-mail and the newspapers bring more
ways to save, save, save!
I recently received a lure from Bath & Body Works offering a
free … as in no cost … item. up to $12.50 in value with any purchase. Now that's my
idea of a deal.
So, what's your best buy so far this season?

Hi Eileen,
My favorite trick has to be done well before December. I join everybody's birthday club. My birthday is this month and so far I've gotten a certificate for a deeper discount, a $10 gift certificate from Macy's and a free entree from Applebees. Happy birthday to me!!

Barb, you are on the ball!
Retailers frequently reward shoppers for loyalty. Macy's is keen on private sales, sending coupons for discounts along with invitations to special events.
I also note that manufacturers are getting in the act. For example, my husband (a gifted chef, praise be) asked for a KitchenAid food processor for Christmas. If I buy a second KitchenAid appliance, I'll get a deeper discount. Is that an incentive to spend or what?
And happy birthday, Barb!
