Is there anything we can't buy at Wal-Mart?
The world's largest retailer expects to open 6,600 in-store medical clinics over the next five years. Wal-Mart decided the prognosis for mixing health-care with retail was healthy after it tested the concept at 75 clinics in 12 states. In fact, the system worked so well, Wal-Mart put the plan on the fast track.
Wal-Mart also is considering equipping the in-store clinics with a common electronic medical records system that will enable patient care to be monitored at any store.
And just think of how much shopping patients can do while they are waiting to see the doc.

Schlock docs! Scary! I'll go to Wal Mart to get a wastebasket or a rake, if I don't need for the wastebasket or rake to stand up to hard usage or last very long. But the general quality level of the stuff I buy there makes me want to seek health care somewhere else, sorry.
